The first year of the Science programme at CQUniversity Australia will provide you with a foundation for a career in the biological, analytical and agricultural sciences and prepare you to major in Applied Biology or Applied Chemistry

Applied Biology Major
This major includes advanced units in invertebrate and vertebrate biology, ecology, microbiology and management of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, which enable students to pursue a wide range of career options in the fields of ecosystem management and rehabilitation, environmental monitoring and conservation of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
Applied Chemistry Major
This major includes advanced units in forensic science, environmental chemistry, molecular biology, nanotechnology, bio-materials, food chemistry and genetics which enable students to pursue a wide range of career options in the fields of applied chemistry, including analytical science, biotechnology, forensic science, food safety and food technology.

The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Minimum required score (Grade B2):
C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.
Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.
