SSA offers two scholarship options available for students attending SSA regular academic programs in Spain, Argentina, Cuba, Panama, and Puerto Rico. You may submit an application to only one scholarship: Merit-Based or Diversity.
SSA scholarships are only awarded to students participating in their programs. Scholarship applications submitted by students participating in non-SSA programs will not be considered.
The scholarship is worth $1,500. SSA scholarships cannot be applied to program costs, including tuition. Scholarships are meant to offset extra expenses while abroad, such as flights, transportation, entertainment, etc.
Essay entries should be between 400 and 500 words and written in English. Please include your name, program, and home school in the top right-hand corner, and submit your completed scholarship application via email with “Merit-Based Scholarship Essay” in the subject.
Prompt: For this essay, share a personal life story that demonstrates your dedication to learning about Spanish and Latin American cultures.
